Orbit — the ADHD routine builder for iPhone

Orbit is a routine app built for ADHD brains. Build a morning, evening or focus routine in a minute, tap start, and an ambient orb walks you through it one step at a time — on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Streak freezes keep your progress alive when life happens.

How it works

How to build a routine
that actually runs.

Most routine apps hand you an empty list and wish you luck. Orbit is a routine builder, which means it does the assembling, the ordering and the running — so the only thing left for you is to show up.

  1. 1

Start from a template, not a blank screen

Pick one of 14 ready-made routines — a sunlight morning, a deep-work block, box breathing, an evening wind-down — and edit the steps you care about, or build your own. Building a routine from scratch is a task-initiation problem, so Orbit removes it. Most people are running their first routine inside a minute.

  2. 2

Run it one step at a time

Tap start and the orb takes over. It shows the current step, breathes through its duration, and hands you the next one. Steps can be timed, counted or simply ticked off, and timers adjust to how long a step really takes you. Transitions are where ADHD routines usually collapse, so Orbit owns them.

  3. 3

Let it follow you out of the app

The orb continues on your Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and in your Home Screen widget. You do not have to keep Orbit open, and you do not have to remember where you were — the current step is already on the screen you were going to look at anyway.

  4. 4

Miss a day without losing the thread

Every five days in a row earns a streak freeze. Miss a day and nothing has to happen that day: when you come back, Orbit shows which streaks a freeze can still save and you pick one. That single design choice is why people come back after a bad week instead of deleting the app.

Features

A routine builder shaped around
how ADHD brains actually work.

Not a productivity app. A companion. Every feature exists to lower the friction of showing up — and to forgive you when you don't.

The Orb

An ambient companion, not a checklist.

A living metaball that shifts colour with the time of day, breathes when you're in a routine, and quietly celebrates when you finish. No badges. No progress bars. Just presence — the visual equivalent of someone sitting with you while you get started.

  • 3 orb styles — Eclipse, Glass, Nebula
  • 28 palettes that shift with sunrise, midday and sunset
  • Full support for Reduce Motion

Routine sessions

One step at a time. The orb does the rest.

Start a routine and the orb takes over — glowing, breathing, counting down each step in the background. You only ever see the step you are on, never the whole mountain. No giant timers shouting at you.

Live Activities & Widgets

Your routine lives on the Lock Screen.

Start a routine and the orb follows you to the Lock Screen, the Dynamic Island and your Home Screen widget — pulsing through each step in real time, so time blindness has less to work with.

Templates

Start in seconds. Not three evenings.

Fourteen ready-made routines across mornings, focus, body, mind and evenings. Tap one, tweak it, you're done. The setup phase is the phase most routine apps die in.

Timers that learn

Plans that match how long things really take.

When a "five-minute" step keeps taking twelve, Orbit can adapt its timer to what the step really takes you, weighting recent days most — so the routine stops running late by design. Time optimism is an ADHD classic; this quietly corrects for it.

Friends, opt-in

A private leaderboard with the people who get it.

Share a link or QR code with one friend or ten. See each other's streaks. It's body doubling in the smallest possible dose — no followers, no algorithm, no strangers.

Streak freezes

A habit tracker that doesn't punish you.

Conventional streak counters are perfectly tuned to make an ADHD brain quit: one missed day wipes months of evidence. Orbit gives you a freeze for every five days in a row, and lets you use them to rescue a streak when you come back. How streak freezes work.

Siri & Shortcuts

"Start my routine in Orbit."

Start any routine or check your streak by voice, with no setup. The gap between intending to start and actually starting is where ADHD loses the most time, so Orbit makes it one sentence long.

Offline-first

Works with no signal at all.

Routines, timers, streaks and reminders all run on the iPhone itself, with no account and no server in the way. On a train, in a basement or in flight mode, the routine carries on; iCloud sync catches up later.

Designed for ADHD

Every decision answers one question:
"would this hurt a bad-brain day?"

Soft animations. No red. No 47-step setup. Forgiving defaults. The whole app is tuned for the days you barely have the energy to open it — because those are the days that decide whether a routine survives.

Soft palettesNo alarming reds or aggressive contrast
Skip without shameMissed days are visible but never punished
Haptic feedbackSubtle taps confirm progress without sound
Reduced motionFull support for accessibility settings

Routine templates

Fourteen routines,
ready before you are.

Every template is a starting point, not a rule: rename steps, change timings, drop what you don't need. Want more ideas? The routine library has step-by-step ADHD routines for showers, cleaning, leaving the house, work and more, each with a bad-day version.

Morning

  • Morning Sunlight Protocol — Daylight, delayed caffeine, water and a cold face rinse.
  • 5-Minute Reflection — Three things you are grateful for and one intention.
  • Sunrise Energize — Water, a three-minute stretch, three breaths, an intention.

Focus

  • Deep Work Block — Clear the desk, phone out of the room, 90 minutes of focus.
  • Pomodoro Session — Pick one task, 25 minutes on, 5 minutes off.
  • Creative Flow — Five minutes of free writing, then thirty of making.

Body

  • Power Breathing — Rounds of deep breaths and breath holds.
  • 7-Minute Workout — A no-equipment circuit with a cool-down stretch.
  • Hydration Check — A glass of water and a posture check.

Mind

  • Stoic Evening Review — What went well, what could improve, what you are grateful for.
  • Box Breathing — Settle, then eight rounds of 4-4-4-4 breathing.
  • Digital Detox — Phone silent, notifications off, an hour offline.

Evening

  • Sleep Hygiene Protocol — Dim lights, no screens, a cool room, fiction, 4-7-8 breathing.
  • Evening Wind-Down — Dim lights, herbal tea, ten minutes of slow reading.

Who it's for

Built for the people
habit trackers keep losing.

You start strong and stall on day nine

The problem isn't motivation, it's that day nine has no scaffolding. Orbit keeps running the routine with you long after novelty wears off.

You've deleted three habit apps already

Usually right after a broken streak. Freezes exist so a missed day is a dent, not a demolition.

Mornings eat an hour before they start

Not because the steps are hard, but because deciding the order is. A routine builder decides once, then replays it.

You bounce off anything that feels like work

Orbit has no dashboards, no charts demanding interpretation, no configuration ritual. Open, tap, go.

Honest fit

Is Orbit right for you?

One app will not fit everyone, and it is cheaper to find out here than after a trial.

Orbit fits if…

  • You know what your morning should look like and still can't get through it.
  • A broken streak has ended habit apps for you before.
  • You want one routine running on your Lock Screen, not a planner to manage.
  • You'd rather keep your data on your iPhone than create an account.

Look elsewhere if…

  • You need Android, a native iPad app or a web version — Orbit is iPhone-only.
  • You want your whole day on a visual timeline — see Orbit vs Tiimo and Orbit vs Structured.
  • You need a to-do list or calendar — Orbit only does routines (which tool you need).
  • You want a completely free app — Orbit has a trial, then a subscription or lifetime purchase.

FAQ

Questions people ask
before downloading.

What is Orbit?

Orbit is an ADHD routine builder for iPhone, made by independent developer Aron de Groot in the Netherlands and released in August 2026. You build a routine as a short list of steps; when you start it, an ambient orb walks you through one step at a time on the screen, the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Streak freezes let a streak survive missed days.

What is an ADHD routine builder?

An ADHD routine builder is an app that helps you assemble a repeatable sequence of steps and then walks you through it, one step at a time. Unlike a habit tracker, which mostly records whether you did something, a routine builder runs the routine with you — handling the order, the timing and the transitions, which is exactly where ADHD executive function tends to stall.

How is Orbit different from a habit tracker?

A habit tracker asks you to report. Orbit runs the routine. You start a routine and the ambient orb takes over: it shows the current step, counts it down, and moves you to the next one on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Tracking is a by-product, not the job.

Will my streak break if I miss a day?

Not if you have a freeze. You earn one streak freeze for every five days in a row, and unused ones stay available until the month ends. When you come back after missing scheduled days, Orbit shows which streaks your freezes can still save and you choose which one to protect — nothing has to happen on the day you missed.

Is Orbit free?

Orbit is free to download, with a free trial. Orbit Pro unlocks the app: $2.99 per week with a 3-day free trial, $39.95 per year with a 1-week free trial, or $69.99 once for lifetime access in the US store. In euro stores it is €2.99 per week, €44.95 per year or €79.99 lifetime. There is no permanently free tier.

Does Orbit track me or show ads?

No. Orbit shows no ads, contains no ad networks and does not track you across other apps or websites, so it never asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. There is no account to create. Your routines are stored on your iPhone, and optional sync goes through your own private iCloud.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to use Orbit?

No. Orbit is designed around the way ADHD brains work — forgiving streaks, low-friction setup, calm visuals — but it is a routine app, not a medical device or a treatment. Anyone worn down by aggressive habit trackers tends to get on with it.

Which devices does Orbit support?

Orbit is an iPhone app and requires iOS 26 or later. There is no Android version, no native iPad or Mac version and no web app.

Can I use Orbit offline?

Yes. Orbit is offline-first. Routines, streaks, the orb and notifications all work with no network at all; iCloud sync catches up whenever a connection returns.

Can I start a routine with Siri?

Yes. Say "Start my routine in Orbit", name one — "Start Evening Wind-Down in Orbit" — or ask "What's my streak in Orbit". These work without any setup, and the Home Screen widget shows what is up next.

to begin gently.
